SterlingNOW Construction Update – August 2020
The first project of the SterlingNOW Campaign three phase construction plan will conclude this month when the College completes the expansion and renovation of The Gleason Physical Education Center. As students return to campus in August, we are proud and blessed to provide them with so many impressive improvements for our academic and athletic programs.
The past month has been interesting to watch the nearly daily visual progress in this beautiful space. From installation of lockers and first-class finishings in new locker rooms for men and women’s varsity basketball, to the wall graphics placed throughout the building that include special tributes to Clair Gleason and Lonnie Kruse, to the “wow” look and feel of the First Bank Lobby and Athletics Hall of Fame. New tile was recently laid in the hallways and lobby and looks very sharp.
Sterling’s guests, fans and students will also notice wonderful progress outside of the facility. Irrigation and sod has been laid, cement has been poured for both the south parking lot, and the main lot has been resealed and painted in preparation for this year’s sports season.
Sterling College Athletics is excited to be able to provide our faculty and students, our athletic coaches, staff and athletes with this top-notch facility. It will be rewarding for the Sterling family to watch the educational and spiritual formation impact that the improvements to Gleason Center will have on our campus for many years to come.
