SterlingNOW Construction Update – August 2019

After the rains of May and June finally subsided, construction work on all projects has moved forward quickly and efficiently.

Gleason Expansion: Footings have been poured, and the concrete slab for the building should be in place next. Fiber optic has been re-routed, and a new four-inch water line has been installed. As is the case in updating an older building, a crack was found in the sewer line that will need to be replaced. A new service sidewalk is to be installed on the south side of the building that will assist our vendors and EMS in entering and exiting the building over the next year.

Temporary Weight Room: Galyon Brothers Construction has done a great job completing their work on what will eventually be our 6,000 square foot Baseball/Softball Complex. This year, however, it will serve as our temporary weight room. More than 25 volunteers from our athletics department unloaded the weight equipment on July 29 and set up the weight room inside this building.

Gleason HVAC Phase II:  Work was completed to remove the original boiler and install four new units that supply our pool and locker rooms with air conditioning and gas heat. New, beautiful glass curtain walls have been installed on the south side of the pool, and new carpet and lighting has been installed in the pool/locker room hallway.
